Twitter has captured the hearts of many. Every other person you see, has a Twitter account now. Gone are the days of “MySpace” or Blogging. Everyone is always in a hurry, but still want to blog about something on the net. So, what do they do? They “Micro-Blog”. Posts as short as a tweet of a bird. Hence the term Twitter was so aptly assigned to this behemoth of a site.
Many entrepreneurs didn’t leave out on a chance to sit and feed on Twitter’s success. In turn, Twitter needed more and more users in it’s community, hence allowing open API’s was one right thing that the Admins on Twitter did. Developers from all over the world pounced on the opportunity of getting themselves a piece of a pie from the Twitter Pie-Express! Hence, the results were quite exhilarating, giving rise to over thousands of great Twitter tools and Applications. Lets have a look at a few of them.
1. Chatterbox – A collaboration platform for Twit-dicts
Ever wanted to read only what you wanted to read? Well, chatterbox makes it possible. By listening to the conversations that might interest you and pointing those out to you, Chatterbox makes one great Twitter social radar.
Creative intuitive backgrounds in Photoshop is easy, if you know how to make your way around the application. The filters being one of the most widely used tools in Photoshop, I decided to give it a whirl. The available features are enormous in quantity and to get the hang of it is quite difficult, but with a creative mindset, you can do wonders with them.
Photoshop has it’s own share of intriguing set of tools, which compels you to keep on experimenting with something or the other, till you get something extremely amazing. Unless the designer keeps trying out new things with the default tools provided in Photoshop, he will never find something creative or interesting that he can use in his further assignments. One such intriguing tool, I’d have to say, would be the History Brush Tool. Barely ever used, this tool has a great amount of potential. To prove this, lets use a dramatic image I found on Flickr, and create something neat out of it.
One thing that the Apple computers always manage to do is, impress me to no limits, just by looking at them. Each photographer these days, literally swears by his Mac and doesn’t want to see a PC again. The brand name is not just the only thing that pulls those workaholics to these mean workstations, it’s the beauty that they portray while doing their job that attracts most of the people.
Just owning a Mac isn’t enough. It should be placed in a place worthy of it’s being. The Mac is almost god to one and many out there and hence it gets the much needed respect it deserves. Clean workstations and working environments not only helps the person work better, but also allows the same person to even think better. So, in honor to my favorite workstation areas, I dedicate this post to them.
Over the last few months, I’ve been somewhat of a video buff. I’ve been watching videos from all the top online video service providers. Not all are great, trust me when I say that. Many a times I’ve been like, “Wow, I just wasted 4 minutes of my life watching that!” But some make me literally stand up and applaud. I love watching videos which have some creativity in them and are not made just for the sake of it. My “Favorites” section on all the online video service providers are almost filled up to the brim and I’ve tried to make a quick round up to showcase some of them. They’re not all that fancy or anything, but would make you feel great once you finish watching them.
The directors, actors and whoever were involved in making of these videos have put in a LOT of efforts, believe me. Some of these videos might have even taken days, or even months to prepare. I really salute them for taking such pains in making such beautiful videos for almost no profits. Kudos, and please do make more. So, without any further ado, let me present to you 10 of my favorite videos of all time.. Well, atleast 10 of them
1. Graphic Design: The Forgotten Web Standard – Slides in 3 Minutes
One of the videos, which really left my jaw wide open. This video, honestly shows what a true designer does on his workstation. I always wanted to see how a “Pro” uses his computer and that too a Mac! This video shows it all and with utmost modesty! Great that!
